5014 - Governance, Senior Manager, IT - San Jose, CA

The Governance, Senior Manager, IT will be responsible for IT governance, vendor management office and IT Project Management Office (PMO) at SunPower. This position will report to the Director Applications Delivery.

This position will interface closely with the Director of IT Operations, Director of Applications Delivery, Chief Information Officer, and various IT and functional business managers/Directors. To succeed in this role, you will possess detail-oriented execution skills, overall business savvy, strong communication abilities and a focus on service excellence.

In addition, the Senior Manager, IT will be responsible for planning, budgeting, people management, career development, quality management, compliance and other typical team leadership responsibilities for their team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• IT Governance:
o Define the overall structure, company processes and IT and business role accountability for overall IT governance function.
o Overall responsibility for Stage Gate process used to govern IT projects.
o Ensure alignment of IT strategy with overall business strategy and goals
o Facilitate Enterprise Architecture team
o Facilitate cross functional Change Control Review Board forum
o Document IT policy and principles
o Coordinate Internal Audit and Sox requirements with IT teams
o Maintain Process Maps coordinating with global and sub process owners
o Own IT measurement and survey processes. Focus on continuous improvement and identify opportunities to provide IT related services more efficiently and effectively

• Vendor Management Office:
o Define process used to monitor performance of outsourced providers to ensure adequate and continuously improving service levels.
o Define key metrics in support of monitoring process.
o Define and monitor quality of key documents related to vendor relationships, such as master service contracts, and statements of work (SOW) for work being executed by third party providers
o
• Project Management office:
o Define standard planning methodologies used to ensure consistent and repeatable project development performance
o Maintain top level IT plan (A3) used to ensure alignment of business and IT
o Define skills set and curriculums required for key project roles such as project managers and IT analysts
o Partner with senior IT and business management and peers to define application and infrastructure roadmaps for the IT strategic plan.

Necessary Skills
• Extensive knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
• Strong judgment and decision making abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication / presentation abilities, including facilitation, negotiation, presentation and demonstration.

Related Experience & Educational Requirements
• Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field; MBA a plus.
• 10+ years experience in a combination of IT development, program management and line management preferably at a ‘Big 4’ Consulting firm.
• ERP experience, preferably Oracle ERP.
• Proven leadership and influencing abilities from core team up through executive levels.
• Strong stakeholder management, communications, and facilitation experience across the full lifecycle of complex products.
• Proven ability to hire, train and motivate a team.
• Deep expertise and successful working experience with IT Service Providers covering all phases of the systems development lifecycle. Experience in contract negotiations and documents review.
• Hands on experience with all aspects of the project lifecycle, including detailed deliverable development as well as team management at all levels.
• Project management experience, management of project managers preferred.

Summary

This New Products Introduction (NPI) Operations Program Manager position will be responsible for managing Operations/Supply Chain activities for specific SunPower Products through the full life cycle- concept, design, prototype, production and end of life. This position will work closely with R&D, Engineering, Quality and other Operational functions to insure the products are robust enough to achieve Cost, Quality, and Delivery objectives throughout the Product Life Cycle. This position will work within the Operations/Supply Chain organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage all Operations/Supply Chain activities for assigned SunPower Products through the full life cycle- concept, design, prototype, production and end of life.
• Core team member for Product Development Team(s) through Stage Gate (Lifecycle) Process
• Develop Operations/Manufacturing Strategy for the assigned Product
• With support from Commodity Management, develop overall Supply Chain/Materials Strategy for the assigned Product
• Liaison with commodity managers throughout the supply chain organization to identify potential suppliers and develop sourcing strategies for a wide variety of components.
• Own the Product/BOM cost as it evolves. Be the single point of contact for collecting volume bids for all components and for maintaining the product BOM cost as it evolves.
• Analyze Product designs relative to DF* Criteria (Design-For-Manufacturability, Design-For-Assembly, Design-For-Constructability, Design-For-Logistics, Design-For-Supply Chain).
• With support from Commodity Management, analyze supply chain design and postponement options for optimal, lean supply chain that achieves high customer service levels.
• With Engineering, contribute to FMEA Analysis on product design
• Drive second-sourcing qualification activities at component level
• Review and approve all product specifications prior to ECO release
• With Engineering, develop Qualification Control Plan and Test Plan
• With Engineering, drive the Part Number creation process
• With Engineering, execute or source packaging design / specifications.
• With Engineering and Supplier Quality Engineering, develop Quality Control Plans for manufacturing
• With Supplier Quality Engineering, conduct suppliers’ qualification audits
• Manage all ECO cut-in / phase in process for the smooth integration of product changes
• Analyze ECO cut-in / phase-in to achieve optimal cost, quality, delivery objectives
• Support Material Review Board (MRB) toward dispositioning Non-Conforming product.
• Drive resolution of Non-Conforming product/specification related issues.
• Conduct First-Article Inspections on new products and revisions
• Conduct CpK studies on relevant manufacturing process
• Monitor and react to quality and reliability excursions through product life cycle.
• Support Engineering with Purchase Orders issuance to Suppliers on “uncontrolled” BOM for proto-typing, first article, miscellaneous material requisitions and ramp production MRP requirements.
• Drive value-engineering cost improvement activity.
• Drive design of fixtures and tooling’s to support/improve manufacturing productivity & efficiency of outsourced products.
• Execute smooth transitions to production buyers as necessary.
• Drive continuous improvement on all relevant operational processes.


Education and Experience

• 8-10 Years plus experience in operations, program management or commodity management.
• B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management a plus/
• Ideal candidate has significant experience in bringing fabricated, electronic or electro-mechanical products to market.


Qualifications

• Knowledge & experience in operations, program management, NPI commodity management or product engineering
• Extensive knowledge of solar manufacturing
• Extensive knowledge in DF* methodologies
• Extensive knowledge in multiple electronics mfg processes.
• Extensive knowledge in Statistics, Process, and Process Capability assessment.
• Familiarity with global supply chain operations for direct material procurement.
• Knowledge and experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Knowledge and experience with ISO9000 requirements and their deployment.
• Knowledge and experience in the use of Oracle ERP system is preferred.

SUMMARY

The Ground Mount R&D Project Manager coordinates and oversees the technical aspects of new product launches at assigned commercial installations. Ground Mount R&D Project Manager reports to the Manager, Ground Mount Product Development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

•Develop, improve, and document installation and assembly processes for new products
•Measure and report labor requirements, installation rates, and installation cost for new products
•Look for and develop continuous improvement opportunities for assembly and installation
•Manage creation of installation related product documentation, Installation Manuals, Design Guidelines, project drawing templates
•Create, update and maintain installation schedules for new product launches
•Engage and coordinate project and construction teams in preparation for product launch
•Manage and Supervise Alpha and Beta installations, coordinate Product Development, Supply Chain, Project Development and Constructions teams in preparation and during installations
•Coordinate and manage development of installation tools with Product Development and Construction teams
•Oversee creation of O&M manual
•Direct info through Engineering for site/project approval
•Customer liaison
•Work with product development engineers to define and optimize assembly and installation methods and cost estimates for new products
•Work with Supply Chain, Quality, and construction personnel to resolve installation issues prior to full launch of new product
•Work with field crews on initial commercial installations of new products to transfer knowledge of best practices, required installation processes, and quality control processes to construction and quality personnel

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

May oversee Site Supervisor or technicians. Responsible for effective oversight of multiple subcontractors and temporary leased installation labor

QUALIFICATIONS

•Working knowledge of commercial construction practices
•Familiarity with IBC code
•Ability to read schematic mechanical and electrical drawings
•Ability to diagnose and fix problems in mechanical and electrical systems
•Ability to successfully oversee unskilled, temporary labor force
•Ability to successfully procure, monitor, and assess subcontracted construction functions (ie electrical contractors, commercial roofers)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

BS or MS in Engineering or related field required
5-8 yrs of related experience
Product development experience is preferred
Experience with commercial construction and/or electrical contracting is required. Experience with project scheduling software such as MS Project is preferred

Primary Responsibilities

•Manage and schedule delivery of materials to customer sites according to material availability
•Work internally within Operations with Logistics, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams to prioritize material deliveries according to your schedule
•Act on behalf of the customer to manage and solve critical issues within Operations that affect customer satisfaction
•Manage allocation of constrained material between customers by brokering agreements between the different field personnel and management if necessary to best benefit SunPower and the customers
•Maintain on time delivery of material and customer lead time performance at or above stated goals
•Manage and resolve exceptions using Oracle’s Advanced Supply Chain Planning and Global Order Promise application
•Maintain accurate scheduling dates in Oracle’s Order Management application

4878 - Vice President, Global Commodity Management - San Jose and Richmond, CA

Responsibilities include setting the strategy and driving performance on all aspects of SunPower’s BOS, Modules and MRO Commodity Spend. This would include sourcing strategy and negotiations for all these commodities. As the VP/Director Global Commodity Management, you and your team will be responsible for locating, introducing and maintaining Strategic Suppliers. SunPower is seeking for an experienced, self motivated person for a new position in System Product Engineering. As part of the P.E team, she/he will be responsible for engineering issues related to commercial rooftop or tracker products once the product has been released. This position will work closely with Systems Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Reliability, Projects, Supply Chain and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Engineering (mechanical, electro-mechanical) support of full range of SunPower System products including rooftop systems and ground mounted tracking systems.
• Investigate internal and external customer complaints, receive customer returns, investigate failures, and provide failure analysis reports.
• Analyze design and construction related field issues and solve module/system issues. Provide engineering and training services to the projects department.
• Work closely with Product Development, to ensure learning from failures and from other field issues are communicated for the next generation of products.
• Work with vendors to reduce costs and improve reliability.
• Update drawings, procedures, specifications and manuals.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing problems.
• Organize external resources (consultants, laboratory service, etc) to support engineering activities.

Educational Requirements & Qualifications

• Master/ Bachelors degree (M.S/ B.S) in mechanical, high-voltage electrical, photovoltaic engineering, energy technologies or related field.
• Strong aptitude in mechanical and high-voltage electrical failure analysis is required.
• Ability and proven experience to think creatively learn and develop innovative solutions to electro-mechanical challenges involved with photovoltaic installations. Familiarity with mechanical engineering and civil engineering principles required.
• Proven problem solving skills and trouble shooting
• Good CAD skills, SolidWorks & Auto CAD preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self motivated, with ability to work both independently and with multiple teams
• 4+ years of engineering experience. Experience in PV industry is desirable
• Strong customer focused attitude
