We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to design and implement next generation of web-based customer facing applications and internal tools for SunPower, one of the largest and most successful solar companies in the world. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Jointly design, implement and enhance suite of highly visible web applications in Flex and AJAX.
• Involved in all phases of development from design to production rollout and post production support.
• Exercise development process best-practices with the team.
• Learn and enhance UI framework underpinning all SunPower Flex Apps
• Interact with a diverse set of stakeholders, including engineers, product manager, User interface designer, information technology staff, and management to refine application specifications, behavior and requirements
• Work with QA team to make sure Flex Application quality meets release criteria and make required fixes to Flex applications
• Work with the development team on profiling the user interface performance and making required changes to meet performance metrics
Experience & Skills
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience; MS in CS or technical field a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience in the full software life cycle developing large scale Web based applications, 3+ years of experience developing Rich UI in Flex and/or Ajax is preferred – although any native UI experience will be considered
• Strong, demonstrated understanding of innovative, user-centered web interfaces and associated web techniques, and RIA technologies (Flex and AJAX)
• Experience with.Net technologies a major plus, although deep experience and understanding of any common web development tool set (e.g., LAMP, Tomcat/Java, etc.) is great to see.
• Must have been a core member of a highly successful product development team with major architectural and programming contributions
•Understanding and appreciation for high quality code and associated best practices
• Must be an excellent team-player with strong time-management and creative problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to work as part of a team of developers
•Ability to work in a deadline oriented, and fast paced environment
• Excellent sense of development/QA/release process
• Willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Programming Skills
Flex2 &3, JavaScript (AJAX), XML, C# or Java, .Net framework.
