Maintenance Supervisor - Richmond, CA

The North American Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing SunPower’s North American Maintenance Group for commercial operations. Reporting to the Supervisor is a team of PV Technicians who perform scheduled and unscheduled fieldwork required to operate and maintain SunPower’s installed commercial base of photovoltaic power systems. PV technician fieldwork includes support for commissioning new systems, preventive maintenance site visits, corrective maintenance site visits, and system testing. The Supervisor position reports to the Director of North American Operations.

Travel is required for this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

•Responsible for implementation of an OSHA complaint safety program for PV Technician post commissioning work.
•Create and manage an annual maintenance group budget.
• Work with accounting to ensure invoices are created and paid by customers receiving service from the maintenance group.
•Using the SunPower work management system, ensure work is planned and scheduled to meet warrantee and service contract commitments/requirements.
•Develop, implement and report metrics for measuring Maintenance Group performance.
•Develop and implement maintenance group written processes and administrative/maintenance procedures.
•Ensuring PV technicians receive continuing technical training.
•Supervise a team of PV technicians and other positions as approved for the maintenance group.
•Establish contracts and manage contract technicians in geographic areas with insufficient business to justify a SunPower Regional Service Center.
•Establish and maintain spare parts inventories, tools and equipment needed to meet requirements for warrantee service and service contracts.
•Work with O&M Systems Engineering to perform trend analysis and corrective action for recurring PV systems equipment problems.
•Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

•Strong technical, supervisory, and project management/organizational skills.
•Proven ability to successfully procure, monitor, and assess subcontracted functions such as electrical contractors.
•Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
•Well-developed and professional interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization, as well as outside customers and vendors.
•Ability to work with minimal or no supervision with a customer service focus.
•Ability to work in high pressure situations.
•Organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines.
•Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Strong knowledge and use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

•Bachelors of Science degree in a technical major (construction management, physics, math, or engineering) and at least 2 years experience managing a military or industrial maintenance team. Or, 2 years of formal technical training with at least one year of electronics or medium/high voltage systems training, and 5 years experience managing a military or industrial maintenance team.
•2+ years experience maintaining and troubleshooting electronic and electrical power distribution systems similar or more complex than SunPower systems.
•1+ years contract and budget management experience preferred.
•Experience using computer work management and scheduling tools.
•Experience reading and interpreting electrical, I&C, and mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
