4211 - Senior Treasury Manager - San Jose, CA
Based in San Jose and reporting to the Vice President and Treasurer, the Senior Treasury Manager will help develop a robust treasury department capable of supporting a highly complex and fast paced company. Specific responsibilities will include:
•Funding – Evaluate, recommend and execute funding strategies. Develop long-term funding plans to ensure liquidity and lowest cost of funds for the company. Develop and manage banking relationships.
• Capital Structure Analysis – Provide support in understanding optimal capital structures.
•Asset Liability Management – Manage the company’s interest rate risks.
•Enterprise Cash Management –. Drive reductions in working capital and develop structures that maximize free cash flow and investment returns for the company and minimize funding requirements.
•Foreign Exchange & Commodity Hedging – Establish hedging plans and parameters. Identify and quantify risk exposures. Develop and implement strategies and tactics to manage risk exposures.
•Credit Risk Management -- Manage the company’s credit risks.
•Process and Technology – Develop, implement and manage corporate treasury processes and systems to support efficient treasury operations. Design, monitor and report treasury performance metrics in a concise, consolidated format.
•Cross-functional Interaction – Develop a clear understanding of the business and strategic objectives, in order to support existing operations and strategic growth initiatives. Partner effectively with other business and finance functions such as Tax (e.g., regular involvement with tax to manage inter-company issues), Structured Finance, Accounting and FP&A.
The Senior Treasury Manager will be expected to take a long term view of the business in an effort to enhance the treasury infrastructure in a growing business, while continuing to respond quickly, soundly and pragmatically to day-to-day needs. In a Sarbanes-Oxley environment, process controls and discipline are essential, and familiarity with treasury systems and controls that provide accurate and timely information within the bounds of regulatory compliance is key. In SunPower’s entrepreneurial culture, the Senior Treasury Manager will also have broad involvement with insurance, as well as perhaps some other aspects of Treasury.
Education and Experience
•The ideal candidate will have an MBA degree with a focus in Finance.
•Strong knowledge of FAS 52, 133, 115 and other Treasury related accounting standards
•10 plus years of relevant experience
Attributes/Qualifications
Strong spreadsheet and presentation skills.
Financial analysis skills with a thorough understanding of financial systems and tools including Hyperion and Oracle G/L.
A critical thinker with attention to detail who regularly seeks innovative solutions to complex business/technical issues.
Financial acumen and organizational skills are highly valued and will be considered requisite.
Superb leadership, team building, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
Must have the ability to generate trust and build alliances at all levels within the organization as well as with external vendors.
A team player adept at facilitating an open exchange of ideas with the Treasury team. Always working toward win/win relationships.
Capable of establishing immediate credibility with business partners; able to build consensus and achieve goals through influence.
High integrity. Must be honest, trustworthy, highly motivated, and possess a strong sense of urgency.
Flexible, with the ability to know when to shift direction and when to be persistent.
