SunPower Corporation is looking for a seasoned, hands-on Sr. Technical Manager to help lead and manage day to day execution of the many aspects of PV system monitoring our software development team is responsible for. You will lead the development efforts for the next generation of customer-facing web applications, iPhone clients and other tools for SunPower’s Residential and Commercial solar customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Interact with a diverse set of stakeholders, including engineers, product designers, IT professionals, and executive management.
• Demonstrated ability to build a team and then work as part of the team, leading by example.
• Willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Promote and maintain development process best-practices with the team.
• Ability to operate at both a high level as well drive detailed technical decision making.
• Provide a strong sense of product and technology roadmaps.
• Participate in a hands-on manner at both design/architecture and implementation levels.
• Participate in and help drive larger software architectural and design challenges that extend beyond any specific web application or other client you are responsible for.
Education And Experience
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience; MS in CS or technical field a plus.
• At least 7 years experience developing Web based database applications.
• At least 4 years experience managing and building development teams with a strong sense of leadership and collaboration across groups.
• Deep experience with SQL Server and .Net technologies desired, although equally deep experience and understanding of any common web development tool set (e.g., LAMP, Apache/Tomcat, etc.) is also valued.
• Experience developing and shipping web applications utilizing Adobe FLEX.
• Excellent sense of development/QA/release process.
• Strong, demonstrated understanding of innovative, user-centered interface and information design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver quality work on time.
• Demonstrated team player.
